Whispering Trees

While traveling through an unknown town
On a cold and blustery day
I came upon a group of trees
Who beckoned to me to stay.

I parked my car in puzzlement
And began to take a walk
At first the trees were hushed
And then they began to talk.

A sense of calm came over me
When I knew what I came to find
Was within myself all along
As I gained a peace of mind.

I walked slowly to my car
As I looked back at the trees
And at the end of the forest
I fell down upon my knees.

I looked up at the snowy sky
And brushed my tears away
And prayed to God for saving me
From my fateful thought that day.
